Owasso VFW Post 7180 was chartered October 16, 1986. Being a Post that has always been about Veterans and Community first, we are trying to change the stigma of "The place where old Vets go to drink". We do not have a bar, which is one of the main ways VFW Posts fund themselves. Instead we try to find ways that are family and community friendly. We are not a post driven by money either, beyond operating cost we fund raise to support Local Veterans in need and local needs that make a difference in our community.
We are always looking for new members. We like most veteran organizations are lacking in young veterans. If you are a veteran and interested in what we do, please stop by the Owasso Community Center Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m., or 1900 if you are still on 24 hour time. This is the time we gather to brainstorm new ideas and just enjoy being veterans of a Great Nation. We may come from different places and different branches, but we are all brothers and sisters in arms.
If walking through the doors on a group of strangers pulls you too far from your comfort zone, we can respect that as well. Please feel free to contact Post Commander Carroll Harris at 918-857-2814. All we ask is you are considerate of the time of day. We can also be reach at vfwpost7180@gmail.com
