Description:
The National Guard Association of Oklahoma is proud to present Steps For Tomorrow 5k!!!
Why We Run!
Steps For Tomorrow isn’t just a run—it’s a movement.
We lace up with purpose, passion, and the shared determination to shine a light on the mental health of our Local Heroes and Veterans. Suicide often strikes silently and unexpectedly, and we believe awareness is the first step toward prevention.
Our MISSION is to build a community driven by connection, support, and the unwavering belief that no one should face their struggles alone. We run to honor lives, spark conversation, and champion access to the help and resources our Heroes and Veterans deserve.
Countless studies show how physical activity—especially running—can have a powerful impact on mental well-being. From boosting mood and self-esteem to reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, running has been linked to meaningful improvements in psychological health across diverse groups. A comprehensive review of over 100 studies even found that running, regardless of pace or distance, can foster emotional stability, resilience, and a deeper sense of self-worth and purpose. It’s not just about physical strength—it’s about creating mental momentum.
At Steps For Tomorrow, we’re turning miles into meaning and movement into healing.
Join the Movement!
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting your journey, you belong here. Every step you take helps break the silence around mental health and opens the path to healing, for yourself and for others. SIGN UP. SHOW UP. SPEAK OUT. Together, we’re running toward a tomorrow where no one is left in the dark.
